Philadelphia Eagles 2025 NFL Draft Grades: Elite First Two Picks and Final Pick
The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off winning the Super Bowl and had the luxury to fill the lineup with some depth pieces in the draft, with having to address the safety and edge rusher positions by the end of the draft. The Eagles did end up doing that, plus added versatility at the linebacker position as well, with guys who can be both outside linebackers and mike linebackers, which they haven’t done in the years before 2024 other than Nakobe Dean in the 3rd round of the 2022 Draft. Howie Roseman had another great draft, not better than 2024, but it was a great draft nonetheless. Here’s my Draft Grades for the Eagles Draft.
Philadelphia Eagles 1st Round Pick: Jihaad Campbell
Campbell is one of those linebackers I was referencing in the intro. The Eagles were trying to trade up to the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th picks with all of those falling through to try and nab this guy in the first round. They were able to move up one spot with a trade with the Chiefs, to grab Campbell with the 31st pick.
Campbell fell to 31 because of a concern with his shoulder, as he has to have surgery on the shoulder. The talent of Campbell, though, is two-fold; he was recruited by Nick Saban as an edge prospect coming out of high school in New Jersey, but he was converted into an inside linebacker, where he excelled throughout his years at Alabama. Campbell was an All-SEC First Team member in 2024 with 119 tackles, five sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception. Campbell is exactly a younger version of Zack Baun, and I think the Eagles will use him like Zack Baun a lot over his career.
Grade: A+
Philadelphia Eagles Second Round Selection: Andrew Mukuba
Mukuba was personally my favorite pick that Philadelphia made in the first two days, as I had him in the third round personally, but the tape is worthy of this pick in the second round at pick 64. Mukuba led the Longhorns with five interceptions in 2024 and also had a clutch interception in overtime against Arizona State in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal matchup in January. Mukuba is the CJ Gardner-Johnson replacement that the Eagles were looking for, as he has a similar play style to CJGJ, but has a better sense of coverage.
That better sense of coverage and hitting ability is going to allow Mukuba to win the starting job opposite Reed Blankenship in training camp ahead of Sydney Brown. Mukuba is a phenomenal pick at the spot he was taken. LOVE IT!
Grade: A+
Philadelphia Eagles Fourth Round Selection: Ty Robinson
After trading out of the third round, the Eagles with No. 111 selected Ty Robinson, a defensive tackle from Nebraska. Robinson is going to be the favorite to replace Milton Williams in that defensive rotation. Robinson had 12 career sacks at Nebraska, but the most impressive part was his 40-yard time at the NFL Combine.
He ran a 4.83 40 at 6’5” and 288 pounds, which is a freak athlete at that stature. Also, when you look at the analytics, he had a 16% pressure rate at the 0- or 1-technique in 2024, as well as 11 QB Hits, which was 1st among all DTs in 2024. The more I do my research on this pick, the more impressed I am with this Eagles selection, as his ability to rush the passer will help him make an impact right away.
Grade: A
Philadelphia Eagles Round 5-145 Selection: Mac McWilliams
McWilliams was one of the best corners in Mobile this year at the Senior Bowl. When you watch that tape along with the tape he had at UCF, this is a great addition to the corner room for depth. His small frame is slightly a concern, but he’s a similar size to Isaiah Rodgers, and Rodgers played well when needed last season for the Eagles. This pick was one of the picks that was underwhelming when I first saw it, but then I became more sold with the Senior Bowl tape. I can still only get to this grade, though, I think this pick could end up improving when all things are said and done.
Grade: A-
Philadelphia Eagles Round 5-161 Selection: Smael Mondon Jr.
Howie continued the Georgia defense quota once again in 2025 with Mondon Jr. I like this pick, but it doesn’t sell me like the Campbell pick did, Mondon is another athletic linebacker that has good instincts to get to the ball. I trust Vic Fangio is going to know what to do with Mondon and the rest of the linebackers in his defense this season. Also, with the Eagles addressing the linebacker position this draft, does draw some concerns about the recovery process of Nakobe Dean’s injury. However, it does allow Dean to take some time and get fully healthy when needed.
Grade: B+
Philadelphia Eagles Round 5-168 Selection: Drew Kendall
Kendall was the second-best center on Mel Kiper’s Big Board heading into this draft and had a strong career at Boston College. This will be a similar theme with the other lineman I will be talking about with the Eagles, their position coach is the best OL coach in the NFL by far, and these boys, including Kendall, have been enrolled in STOUTLAND UNIVERSITY.
Grade: B+
Philadelphia Eagles Round 6-181 Selection: Kyle McCord
McCord was the leading passer in 2024 college football as he had 4,779 passing yards with 34 touchdowns and 12 interceptions at Syracuse. McCord did have to transfer to Syracuse from Ohio State. But my main issue with this pick was the fact that the Eagles didn’t have to do it but wanted to build an asset with the QB Factory moniker in my mind. So, this selection only has one purpose: development into an asset later on. Which I don’t like as much when drafting, but I get it.
Grade: C+ Now, depending on the asset, it could be a B- later
Philadelphia Eagles Round 6-191 Selection: Myles Hinton
Hinton is the son of former NFL offensive tackle Chris Hinton, so the pedigree for the position is there, and he has had experience at both tackle spots. The only issue that Hinton could really have is that his lateral quickness could cost him in pass protection. But as I said with Kendall, STOUTLAND UNIVERSITY is going to get this guy right for the future. So, in Jeff Stoutland I trust.
Grade: B
Philadelphia Eagles Round 6-207 Selection: Cameron Williams
Williams is another tackle that has a lot of upside, but committed a lot of penalties at Texas last season, with 18 penalties in 16 starts, according to The Athletic. Some outlets had him as a third-round grade, and some had him as a fourth-round grade. Either way, you look at the talent is a steal, but he is far from a finished product and will have to work hard at Stoutland University to succeed. So, like the other lineman selections, it’s going to be the same letter Grade for Williams as it was for Hinton and Kendall, and the same grade as Hinton.
Grade: B
Philadelphia Eagles Round 6-209 Selection: Antwaun Powell-Ryland
Finally, THE EAGLES’ BEST VALUE SELECTION IN MY ESTIMATION OF DAY THREE WAS THE LAST PICK THEY MADE IN THE 2025 NFL DRAFT, ANTWAUN POWELL-RYLAND! Powell-Ryland was a freak athlete at the edge position who had 16 sacks in Blacksburg for the Hokies in 2024. The Florida transfer was electric for Brett Pry in 2024. I thought he was going to be selected a lot earlier than No. 209, because of his elite speed and skills as an edge rusher, but I guess teams were worried about his size. Just look at what Fangio did with Nolan Smith, and you could see similar production with Powell-Ryland in 2024. THIS WAS EASILY MY FAVORITE PICK OF DAY 3 FOR PHILLY!
Grade: A+
Final Grade for the Philadelphia Eagles 2025 NFL Draft
The Eagles’ 2025 NFL Draft was trying to get the team younger and add depth at key positions like safety and edge rusher. I think the Eagles did that and more in this draft, PFF has the Eagles as one of the best drafts with an A draft. Based on my calculations, I think I’ll have the Eagles at A- for the overall grade for this year. Total Apex Sports has more NFL Draft grades all over the site by Sunday afternoon, so look forward to that and Respect the Hustle.
