Jordyn Tyson Drafted No. 8 Overall By New Orleans Saints In 2026 NFL Draft
Former Arizona State Wide Receiver Jordyn Tyson was drafted No. 8 overall by the New Orleans Saints in the 2026 NFL Draft. While considered one of the best wide receivers in the draft class, Tyson enters the NFL with tremendous injury issues. He was forced to miss the entirety of the 2023 campaign after suffering injuries to his ACL, MCL, and PCL.
He also missed the final two games of the 2024 season with a broken collarbone and missed four games in 2025 with hamstring issues. An injured player in college is no sure bet to stay healthy in the pros when the defenders are bigger, faster, and stronger. Will this pick work out?
Tyson’s Fit In New Orleans
Tyson joins an upstart Saints offense led by second-year Quarterback Tyler Shough. Tyson is now part of an offense that already includes star Wide Receiver Chris Olave and Running Back Travis Etienne Jr. This assortment of offensive talent will give Head Coach Kellen Moore great pieces to work with during the 2026 NFL season and beyond.
Was This the Right Pick?
Whether you agree with the strategy or not, the New Orleans Saints are clearly doubling down on offense this offseason. They want to give their young QB, Shough, ample opportunity to prove if he is the quarterback of the future.
