Jonathan Hankins Re-Signs With Seattle Seahawks On 1-Year Deal
Jonathan Hankins signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks. The 6-foot-3 330 330-pound Defensive Lineman played all 17 games last year in Seattle. Terms of the signing were not disclosed/available. Last year, he made just over $2 million on a one-year deal.
Hankins’ 2024 Season and Career Statistics
The 2024 season was the first for the lineman in Seattle. He started in 8 games, had 30 tackles, including 5 for a loss, and a quarterback sack. For the first time in his career, he had an interception when he picked off a Brock Purdy pass in November against the San Francisco 49ers.
Hankins was a second-round draft pick out of Ohio State in 2013 by the New York Giants. He started all games in two of the four years he was with the Giants. From 2016-2021 he was consistent performer, appearing in 14 or more games each year. However, injuries changed that. He appeared in just 21 games in three years. In addition to the Seahawks and Giants, he has played for Indianapolis Colts, Las Vegas Raiders and Dallas Cowboys.
Hankins Adds Depth To Seahawks Defensive Line
He adds depth to a strong area for Seattle. Leonard Williams, Byron Murphy, and Jarron Reed are already signed for the 2025 season. The choice to come back was easy for the veteran. In a statement, Hankins said, “I like it here. Everything made sense. To be able to still be playing in Year 13, and obviously the organization wanted me back, so it just made sense.”
