The Indianapolis Colts Fall To The Steelers On The Road
The Indianapolis Colts fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-20 on Sunday in what was Daniel Jones worst showing all season. The Steelers on the other get a much needed win after dropping two in a row. The Indy offense would score a touchdown in the first quarter and struggled through till the fourth quarter when they scored once more on a Josh Downs catch in the end zone. There is plenty to unpack from this game let’s dive into it.
The Colts Offense Struggles To Score
The fluent Indy offense we have seen all season looked very larghteic on the gridiron on Sunday. The offensive line giving up sacks and Daniel Jones looked very uncomfortable in the pocket on Sunday. The six turnovers that the Steelers defense forced yesterday was what won them the game. In all five of those were on QB Daniel Jones who had three interceptions on the day.
The turning point of the game came in the second quarter when T.J Watt sack Daniel Jones causing a fumble that led to the Steelers scoring on the ensuing drive. It seemed as the Colts offense could not shake that off and it set the tone for the rest of the game. The run game really never got going yesterday either with Johnthan Taylor rushing for just 45 yards on 14 carries which is his season low.
I believe that the team will learn a lot from this game and will be able to fix the miscues. One of the more interesting stats from the game is that the Colts went 5 for 5 on fourth down. The blue and white head to Germany next week for a showdown against the Falcons then it’s thier ye week.
Final Thoughts
The Colts will look to bounce back next as of right now they are still in First place with the Broncos and Patriots also with only two losses. There will be plenty of work this Week and it will be cool to see how this team responds to a loss like this. Stay tuned to Total Apex Sports all season long for all the latest news in the NFL.
