The Los Angeles Chargers will travel to the East Coast to take on the Miami Dolphins in an exciting matchup. Justin Herbert and the Chargers dropped their second straight game last week, losing 27-10 to the Washington Commanders. Over in Miami, the Dolphins blew a 17-0 lead against the Carolina Panthers, falling to 1-4 on the season.
Chargers Are Struggling
After starting 3-0,
the Chargers have lost their last two games and could lose their top spot in the AFC West if they lose to the Dolphins. The good news for Los Angeles is that this is the perfect game to get Justin Herbert back on track. The Dolphins’ defense has been atrocious, and won’t be able to stop the Chargers’ passing attack.
Hassan Haskins will get the start in Miami, after they played Omarion Hampton on injured reserve. It’s been reported that they’re looking for a replacement running back.
Miami Is StrugglingÂ
The Dolphins have struggled mightily, and Mike McDaniel is coaching for the job. McDaniel is sitting on the hot seat, and one more loss could mean Miami moves on and finds someone new. McDaniel needs to get creative because it’s going to be a shootout.
Darren Waller has been great since coming out of retirement, scoring three touchdowns in two games. He’s been a focal point of the offense with Tyreek Hill being out for the year, and he needs to keep the momentum going tomorrow.
The last time Tua faced the Chargers, he threw for over 450 and threw for 3 touchdowns. This stat line will be hard to replicate, but he needs to keep up with Justin Herbert. Miami needs to establish the running game early and get De’Von Achane heavily involved. Achane hasn’t had a game where he’s had over 100 rushing yards, and that needs to change tomorrow.
Keys To The Game
Can the Dolphins get home? The Chargers will be missing both of their starting tackles tomorrow, and if Miami wants to have a chance in this game, they’ll need to apply pressure on Justin Herbert. Chop Robinson will also have a favorable matchup, going against Austin Deculus.
Will Achane break out? The Chargers have struggled to stop the run, and Miami’s offense is going to need a big day out of their backs to have a chance in this game. I’d also expect Ollie Gordon to get more reps.
