Browns Dominate Eagles 22-13 to Stay Perfect in 2025 Preseason
The Cleveland Browns stormed into Philadelphia and defeated the reigning Super Bowl Champions Eagles, 22-13 in the second week of the 2025 NFL Preseason. Even though it’s the Preseason, where the GAMES DON’T MATTER, this can be a confidence builder for a Cleveland team that people are underrating and thinking that they are going to SUCK in 2025. Meanwhile, for the Eagles, there are several huge concerns for the reigning champs that they need to answer before the September 4th opener against their hated rival Dallas Cowboys. Here are some detailed breakdowns from the game.Â
Dillon Gabriel Looked Okay for the Browns
Browns 3rd-round selection Dillon Gabriel looked strong in his preseason debut. But if you are a Shedeur Sanders fan at this moment in time, you should feel great about Sanders, even though he didn’t play in the game on Saturday with an Oblique injury. Gabriel was 13-18 passing for 143 yards.Â
But he had two critical mistakes in this game, throwing a pick-6 and losing a fumble, both turnovers caused by Eagles rookie safety Andrew Mukuba. But overall, Gabriel was productive enough at times to get the Browns to several scoring drives in this game, unlike the Eagles on this day. Speaking of Philadelphia’s offense, here’s that story.Â
The Eagles’ Offense was Putrid!

The Eagles were HORRIBLE OFFENSIVELY IN THIS GAME, to say the least. The Eagles only had 88 total yards of offense in this game. Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Kyle McCord were both terrible, but Thompson-Robinson probably should have already been cut as soon as he got into the locker room after this performance, especially after this particular play in the second half of this game.Â
The Eagles were up 13-12 before DTR, lacking the pocket presence to throw it away, throws the ball as he gets hit, and it lands in KJ Henry’s hands as he would end up running it 45 yards to the house to give Cleveland the lead. McCord led Philadelphia in the only scoring drive of this game on offense, which gets him the edge in my opinion of the QB3 competition. Philadelphia has more pressing problems than how the 3rd string offense played. Who’s going to be CB2 when in Nickel?Â
The Never-Ending Saga of Mediocre CB2 Play in Philly So Far
Philadelphia has a huge issue at hand in the secondary: who is going to be the CB2 next to Quinyon Mitchell? The three suspects at hand to potentially fill that role are Keele Ringo, Adoree Jackson, and Jakorian Bennett, and all three guys are playing kind of mediocre at best right now, with no one separating themselves at this particular moment in time, which is cause for concern for Eagles fans, including myself. Philadelphia needs to find that solution soon, or George Pickens is going to eat them alive in the Opener. Meanwhile, as for Saturday, Bennett had some good plays in that battle, in my opinion.Â
Final Thoughts
The Browns’ defense won this game with their dominant day from their backups, which I didn’t expect to see, to say the least. But they were overall impressive in this game in all three phases, which is a slight concern for some in Philly, bringing some optimism for the Cleveland fans. Cleveland still needs to answer the questions at the quarterback position behind Joe Flacco, but the defense has some interesting pieces that they could mix in this upcoming season.
