Atlanta Falcons a Primetime Darling On 2025 Schedule
The NFL Schedule Release is always interesting. It is a window into which teams the league believes will be strong in the upcoming season. The squads the NFL believes will be playoff-caliber will be featured in more primetime contests. The Atlanta Falcons are poised for a solid campaign, according to the National Football League.Â
Atlanta has the third-most primetime games this season with five. The Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys are the only teams in the league with more primetime games than the Atlanta Falcons. Atlanta will also be on display for an international audience. They will face the Indianapolis Colts in Berlin on November 9.
Atlanta’s primetime matchups are on the road against the Minnesota Vikings, at home against the Buffalo Bills, on the road against the San Francisco 49ers, on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and at home against the Los Angeles Rams. Will the Atlanta Falcons reward the league’s faith in them in 2025?

Atlanta will enter the regular season with high hopes. They narrowly missed the NFL Playoffs in 2024 following an 8-9 record. They had a chance to win the NFC South in Week 18, but lost to the Carolina Panthers 44-38 in an OT thriller. Atlanta signed veteran Quarterback Kirk Cousins to a lucrative contract last offseason to help guide them to the postseason. Unfortunately, that contract did not go according to plan. Cousins played miserably over his final five starts. That set the stage for rookie Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. to get the nod with three games left in the season.
He showed signs of promise that he will look to build upon as the undisputed starting quarterback during the offseason program for the first time. Penix Jr. will have a bevy of weapons at his disposal during his sophomore season. Chief among them are Running Back Bijan Robinson, Wide Receiver Drake London, and Tight End Kyle Pitts.
Atlanta’s offense should be strong, but question marks surround the team’s defense. Four of their picks in the 2025 NFL Draft were on the defensive side of the ball. The Falcons defense also includes Cornerback A.J. Terrell and Safety Jessie Bates III. The Atlanta Falcons are a strong team on paper, but that is not where the games are contested.
Final Thoughts
The National Football League is throwing its weight behind the Atlanta Falcons in 2025. They have put the team in five primetime games plus a game in Germany. These decisions by the league ratchet up the pressure on a team with high expectations to begin with.
