BREAKING: Lions Sign Allen Robinson to Active Roster

The Detroit Lions made a move today to beef up their receiving core adding veteran Allen Robinson. Robinson will play the role of wide receiver 3 on the Lions’ depth chart. Detroit fans have had concerns about the position dating back to the preseason. Robinson is expected to have a possible impact on Monday night when the Lions host the Seattle Seahawks.

Allen Robinson Elevated To Active Roster

Veteran Wide Receiver Allen Robinson was signed alongside Tim Patrick to add some depth to the receiver room in Detroit. Both receivers were brought in to compete for a possible wide receiver 3 role on the roster. Allen Robinson adds a possession receiver skill set that the Lions have been missing since letting Josh Reynolds go in free agency this past offseason.

Reynolds was a security blanket for Quarterback Jared Goff, dating back to time with the Los Angeles Rams. Fans were concerned that the position was not filled and seemed to be a very thin wide receiver room. Robinson adds a veteran presence to go along with Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams. This will be Robinson’s 11th season and fourth NFL team. He previously had stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Detroit Lions.
