Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are set to collide in what should be an excellent Premier League match.
Today’s home side is coming off a 1-0 victory against Fulham. And in that game, Bruno Guimaraes scored an 81st medical. Alexander Isak took two shots, and both of them were on target. Finally, Martin Dubravka recorded the clean sheet for his side.
The visitors are coming off a 3-1 win against Nottingham Forest. The defender, Micky van de Ven, was able to secure himself a goal. Pedro Porro was also able to find the back of the net. Heung-Min Son created havoc up top as he was unable to finish the day with a goal. However, he had two shots, but more importantly, he provided an assist.
Do you see the fourth-place team grabbing three points today away from home?
Newcastle vs. Tottenham Notable Trends
Newcastle United
Newcastle has fared well throughout the season. In 31 games played, they have 14 wins, five draws, and only 12 losses. Additionally, they have a positive 13-goal differential. Moreover, finishing in the top six is possible, as they are only two points behind Manchester United at the moment.
But if this is going to happen, Isak will need to step up today against the quality Tottenham Hotspur team. In 23 matches, he has scored 15 goals. Kieran Trippier leads the team in assists with 10 on the year, but he’s not expected back until later this month. Lastly, Dubravka will need to be big today. In 16 starts, he has three clean sheets and will look to make it four.
Tottenham Hotspur
It’s no secret that Tottenham Hotspur is one of the better sides in the Premier League. However, they are separated by too many points at this moment to be considered for a top-three finish. They are behind Manchester City, who are 10 points clear of them. They have some steep competition, with Aston Villa breathing down their neck. Tottenham Hotspur has a slight goal differential advantage, but that can easily evaporate from game to game.
Son has 15 goals for the year. Additionally, Richardson has 10 goals. But he will be unavailable, more likely than not. Finally, late acquisition Timo Werner has scored twice, provided three assists, and made eight starts for Tottenham so far.

Newcastle vs. Tottenham Head- To-Head
Over the last five games against each other, Tottenham Hotspur has won three, while Newcastle has taken two matches. Their most recent game was in late December, in which Tottenham was able to get a 4-1 victory. Son and Richardson had three goals between each other in that game. However, it’s important to note that Newcastle had a 6-1 victory in the prior matchup before that.
Injury Report
There are a lot of players out for this game. Notably, Sandro Tonali is suspended due to a red card offense for Newcastle. Furthermore, as mentioned, Trippier will not be back until later this month. Other exclusions for today are Callum Wilson, Jamaal Lascelles, and Joelinton, among others. Lewis Hall and Matt Targett are doubtful to play today.
Richarlison is expected to be able to play until later in April due to his knee injury. And because of a meniscus tear, Tottenham Hotspur fans will not see Manor Solomon until the next campaign.
