SGA Elite Game 2 Performance Ties NBA Finals at 1-1
SGA’s 34 points, five rebounds, eight assists, and four steals were needed for the Thunder to bounce back and win Game 2 of the Finals to tie the series at a game apiece. The 123-107 win was a dominant showing for not only the Thunder as a team, but SGA himself. He was in control for the whole duration of the game and was able to get to whatever spot on the court he wanted to throughout the game. The energy level was high all night for the Thunder as they were dominant throughout the contest, and SGA was the catalyst for that. Here are some more reactions from this game.
Jay Williams’ Comparison of SGA and the Thunder
On Monday morning’s First Take, ESPN Analyst Jay Williams had an interesting comparison for SGA towards the end of the show. When asked who SGA’s game reminds you of? Jay Williams said, “he’s a blend of Allen Iverson and Kobe Bryant.” That is a great comparison by J-Will, as SGA’s game also reminds me of Allen Iverson and Kobe Bryant in the way he scores the basketball and the fluidity of his game, of how he finds a way to his spots on the court and his ability to be on the defensive side of the floor.
Speaking of the defensive side of the floor, Williams also had an interesting comparison for the Thunder as a whole that went viral Monday morning as well.
Although it’s a silly, weird analogy by Williams, this analogy is a great description of the Thunder defense when they are firing on all cylinders and are suffocating you on the perimeter and forcing turnovers. This Thunder defense is one of those defenses that will go down as one of the all-time defenses if they win it all, so they look to continue the defense from Game 2 into the rest of the series.
Final Thoughts
SGA and the Thunder will look to keep their momentum on Wednesday night as the NBA Finals move to Indianapolis, Indiana, for the next two games. The Pacers fans are going to be rowdy and loud for both those games, with the Pacers having a chance to maintain home-court advantage that they stole in Game 1 with Tyrese Haliburton’s game winner. Total Apex Sports will have more reactions throughout the NBA Finals and the rest of the offseason news as well throughout the offseason.
