Elite Chinese Basketball Prospect Fanbo Zeng is Heading to the NBA
One of the top players in the Chinese Basketball Association, Fanbo Zeng, is committed to pursuing an NBA career, as reported by NBA Insider Chris Haynes on Wednesday Afternoon. Zeng has G League experience as well as he played for the G League Ignite for the 2021-22 season. He is a 6’10” Sharpshooter and could be a great prospect for the NBA. He has hired Mike Silverman and Troy Panye of Equity Sports for representation. Let’s look at his career overseas in China over the last few years.
Zeng’s Numbers in China
In 2024-25 for the Beijing Shougang, Zeng averaged 14.7 points per game, 4.6 rebounds per game, on 53% from the field, and 41% from three-point range on 27.8 minutes a game. He is one of those guys, by looking at the numbers, who is a consistent three-point threat and will help a team down the road that needs more shooting from the wings in this version of the NBA brand today.
I think Zeng will be a great fit for teams in the NBA, as he could provide a spark from the three-point range that not many people can do right now. The NBA will be an adjustment for the Chinese prospect, but in the right situation, he can thrive.
Final Thoughts
Zeng will be a great prospect to keep an eye out for over the next couple of years to see what he does in the League. It will be interesting to see what his comparisons will be when he does officially enter the Draft. He’ll have to be in the right spot for him to have success, obviously, but I think he could be a great player in the league after watching his highlights.
