The third week of the MLS matchday came and went with some surprises and other events that no one was surprised about. In the Eastern Conference, to no one’s surprise, Inter Miami, who is favored to win the MLS Cup, dominated at home. The Columbus Crew lost a win on a last-minute goal, while the Philadelphia Union earned another tie on a last-minute goal. Also, in the Eastern Conference, several teams have stumbled out of the gate. Meanwhile, in the Western Conference, there is a five-team logjam at the top of the conference (Portland, LA Galaxy, St. Louis, Real Salt Lake, and Minnesota). Also, we saw several teams struggle and another lose in a snowstorm. Here are the results and highlights from the week:
Minnesota United FC-1 Columbus Crew-1
–Tani Oluwaseyi scored in the 95th minute to salvage a point in the home opener.

–Andres Gomez scored two goals during a blizzard in Salt Lake City, UT

–Luis Suarez scored his first two MLS goals, and Lionel Messi also scored twice in a rout at home.

–Ryan Raposo scored in the 50th minute of the 1st half to give Vancouver a draw at home.

–Miles Robinson scored in the 68th minute off of a corner kick, as the road team picked up the victory.
FC Dallas-1 CF Montreal-2
–Josef Martinez scored in the 60th minute, as Montreal got a road win against Dallas.
Houston Dynamo-1 New York Red Bulls-2
–Lewis Morgan scored in the 59th minute as the Red Bulls got the win at Houston.
St. Louis City FC-2 NYCFC-0
–Celio Pompeu and Samuel Adeniran both scored, as NYCFC went to 0-2.
Colorado Rapids-1 Nashville SC-1
–Teal Bunbury scored on a penalty kick in the 90th minute, as Nashville escaped on the road with a draw.
Portland Timbers-2 DC United-2
–Mateusz Klich and Kristian Fletcher score in a 10-minute span, as DC United erases a two-goal deficit to get a draw on the road.
San Jose Earthquakes-1 LA Galaxy-3
-The Galaxy gets goals from Joseph Paintsil, Dejan Joveljic, and Ricard Puig in a 30-minute span, as Los Angeles is tied for first place.
Seattle Sounders-0 Austin FC-0
-Seattle outshoots Austin 23-3, but somehow could not score. Both teams earned a point.
New England Revolution-0 Toronto FC-1
–Lorenzo Insigne scored in the 27th minute for Toronto and keeping New England winless.
