Manchester City’s Superstar’s Future Threatened with Multiple 2024 Transfer Rumors

Manchester City had a fantastic end to the 2023-2024 Premier League campaign, coming back from behind to defeat Arsenal FC and take back their ‘rightful’ spot at the top of the table for what feels like the tenth time in the last ten years. Under Pep Guardiola, City has reigned supreme, winning numerous domestic trophies, Premier League medals, and Champions League appearances.

But, one of their key players who has developed the club, helped them get to the elite level they are currently at right now, and aided in their success this season could potentially be out of the door. Unless this critical player gets a new contract at City, other leagues all across the world will pay whatever amount of money they can to entice one of the best midfielders of our time.

Elite Midfielder Could Leave Manchester City

One of the best players of all time in the Premier League, and in the world, could be leaving City during the summer transfer window. Pep Guardiola is keen to retain his starters and crucial players heading into the 2024-2025 Premier League campaign, but it all comes down to contracts, money, and offers on the table.

And unless the club offers Kevin DeBruyne a favorable new contract, the Saudi Pro League will offer exactly what he needs – and more.

Manchester City have yet to get DeBruyne to sign a new deal at the English club, prompting numerous Saudi League sides to take meetings with Kevin’s agents, offering incredible sums and contract deals for more than $110 million.

Although DeBruyne is one of the top players at Manchester City – and widely regarded as one of the best midfielders to ever play the game – it is noticeable that he is getting older. As he ages, he could look to slowly phase out of the Premier League and into ‘easier’ leagues, like the MLS, Saudi Pro League, Japanese League, or even his home country’s domestic league in the Netherlands.

One would argue that he is still in his prime – when he got minutes this year for Manchester City, he threaded together beautiful passes, ran the midfield, and helped assist dozens of goals. But, injuries played their part this year, meaning that the midfield maestro only registered 18 Premier League games throughout the long season.

Even with limited minutes and 18 games under his belt, he was still able to complete ten assists, which put him within striking distance of the top assistant in the league – a player who played every single game this year. This shows that DeBruyne’s proficiency and efficiency have only increased as he has gotten older.

Saudi Pro League Could Purchase the 32-Year-Old

Pundits and Manchester City fans can argue that DeBruyne is still at the top of his game, but you can’t argue with time. De Bruyne is 32 years old, so it only makes sense that he would be on his way out of the Manchester City clubhouse in the next 1-3 years to find an easier league, make even more money on a lucrative contract, and then retire in peace.

The most likely option for his departure is a Saudi Pro League side, as they have the most financially enticing deals on the market. It is no wonder they have purchased players like Benzema from Real Madrid, Ronaldo from Manchester United, and N’golo Kante from Chelsea all within the last year.

Is this the end of DeBruyne at City? Stay tuned to see if he will go to the Saudi League, MLS, or renew his contract at Guardiola’s club.
