The Las Vegas Raiders want to bounce back after losing in week one. Everybody knows starting 1-1 instead of 0-2 is much better.
It certainly won’t be easy since they’re on the road against, this time against the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens are one of the best teams in the league. They’re also extremely motivated, as they also lost in week one to the Kansas City Chiefs. What if I told you there might be a way for the Las Vegas Raiders to sneak out of Baltimore with a win on Sunday?
Win In the Trenches

Nothing gets done if the offensive line isn’t holding up. Everybody knows that the most important part of the game is the trenches. Most football games are won or lost up front, and the Las Vegas Raiders’ offensive line was brutal last Sunday.
They gave up the third-most sacks in the league in week one. The running game also never quite got going since both Alexander Mattison and Zamir White had difficulty running with no holes opening up in front of them. If the offensive line doesn’t step it up in week two, the offense might be doomed to have a repeat bad performance.
Open Up The Passing Game
One of the problems last Sunday was the lack of a downfield passing game. Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew averaged a league-low 4.5 air yards per attempt compared to the 7.3 he averaged last season. That means he was throwing the ball less than five yards down the field per attempt. Head Coach Antonio Pierce had said one of the keys for Minshew was to stick to the gameplan, but it’s unlikely that the gameplan was to average the least amount of yards per attempt.
The Raiders have a lot of weapons for Minshew to throw the football too. In order to have success against the Ravens, the offense needs to open it up and be willing to make plays. Playing conservatively to an extreme level isn’t going to win a lot of games.
Edge Might Be an Issue
No, this does not refer to the famous WWE Hall of Fame wrestler and actor in the Percy Jackson show. The Las Vegas Raiders have a massive hole right now on the opposite side of Maxx Crosby. Tyree Wilson went down with a serious knee injury, which Pierce said “does not look good.” Adding to this already was the injury of starting edge rusher Malcolm Koonce who’s currently on IR.
The Las Vegas Raiders signed former first-round edge rusher K’lavon Chaisson from the Jacksonville Jaguars in hopes he can reach his potential in a way he didn’t in Jacksonville. Charles Snowden had to play a lot of snaps after being elevated from the practice squad for last Sunday’s game. One side of the defensive line looks extremely vulnerable against a Ravens team with Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson.
