Cincinnati Bengals Wide Receiver Ja’Marr Chase just capped off a historic regular season. He won the receiving triple crown which means that he led the league in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. Chase finished the regular season with 127 receptions, 1,708 receiving yards, and 17 receiving touchdowns. The last player to accomplish this feat was Los Angeles Rams Wide Receiver Cooper Kupp who did so in 2021.
Chase’s historic season did not lead to success on the field for the Cincinnati Bengals as they narrowly missed out on the NFL Playoffs with a 9-8 record. The connection between Quarterback Joe Burrow and his former LSU, and now NFL teammate, created one of the league’s most dynamic offenses this year. Will Chase be able to continue making history during his NFL career?

The star wide receiver has been one of the best players in the NFL since being drafted No. 5 overall by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2021 NFL Draft. Chase has been a Pro Bowler in all four career seasons and was named the Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2021. He has 395 career receptions for 5,425 receiving yards and 46 receiving touchdowns.
He also played a crucial role in Cincinnati’s run to the Super Bowl during his rookie season. He had 25 receptions for 368 receiving yards and 1 receiving touchdown. The star receiver was even better throughout Cincinnati’s playoff run the following year, but Cincinnati ultimately lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
Final Thoughts
Chase’s historic season has set him up for a tremendous payday. He and the team were unable to come to an agreement on a contract during the offseason and tabled contract discussions until the offseason. He bet on himself during the season and made history in the process. Burrow has made it clear on countless occasions that he plans to play the entirety of his career with Chase.
