WWE NXT Results: Myles Borne Retains Title As Shiloh Hill Scores

Myles Borne wins on NXT

The latest episode of WWE NXT aired on April 28, including major matchups, rising tension between competitors, and several memorable moments that shaped the night. Myles Borne successfully defended the NXT North American Championship against Saquon Shugars.

At the same time, Shiloh Hill secured the biggest victory of his fledgling career by beating Ricky Saints in what looks like Saints’ last match in NXT before he moves to SmackDown. Each match will have a significant impact on the brand’s future.

Myles Borne Defends Amid DarkState Fallout

Myles Borne began the night defending his NXT North American Championship in a wild fight against Saquon Shugars. However, the story of the contest became the visible cracks forming within the DarkState faction.

Borne immediately seized momentum with a big gut-wrench T-Bone suplex. He continued to apply pressure by diving over to the outside and laying several DarkState wrestlers low in a fearless opening assault.

Saquon Shugars eventually found momentum by targeting the champion’s shoulder and driving him into the ring post. He followed with an impressive Northern Lights suplex that nearly changed the pace of the match.

DarkState Tension Costs Shugars

The turning point came when Dion Lennox attempted to help Shugars by handing him a steel chair. Rather than using the chair, Shugars confronted Lennox and made it clear he wanted to win fairly. The disagreement soon turned into a heated argument at ringside, allowing Borne to capitalize by sending Shugars crashing into Lennox and both men into the steel steps.

With his challenger stunned, Borne rolled Shugars back into the ring and connected with his finishing move, Borne Again, to score the pinfall and retain the championship.

Borne’s celebration did not last long. Moments after the victory, new challengers made their presence felt. Tristan Angels appeared in the crowd to warn the champion, while Kam Hendrix attacked from behind and dropped Borne with a massive Uranage. The post-match assault made it clear that Borne’s reign may be facing multiple threats in the weeks ahead.

Shiloh Hill Defeats Ricky Saints In Main Event Surprise

Later in the night, Shiloh Hill delivered the most significant win of his career by defeating Ricky Saints in the main event. The match also carried extra attention because the Saints are widely expected to move to SmackDown in the near future.

Hill’s ever-changing nature was a big factor early on. After going under the ring, Saints brought out a Hill dummy in Hill’s clothes, only for Hill to come out from behind the ring moments later with a somersault from the steel steps. The match then grew more brutal, culminating in a Roshambo by Saints on the ground and a violent superplex that nearly ended the match.

Weird Momentum Reversal Results In Upset

A unique moment was when Saints smacked Hill so hard that Hill lost his false teeth. Rather than cowering down, Hill was inspired and began a counterattack. Infuriated, Saints picked up a steel chair and tried to use it. As the referee attempted to intervene, Hill slammed Saints onto his face with a drop toehold.

Hill then went on to deliver Whisper to the Beast and three-count. Hill celebrated his win with fans and his dummy, while Saints will be on Friday Night SmackDown soon. With Borne’s reign in danger and Hill on the rise, NXT ended the evening with new and exciting developments.
