The Dallas Cowboys are entering a new season in 2024. Last season, the Cowboys held a 12-5 record with a trip to the NFC Wildcard Round. They lost to the Green Bay Packers at home by a score of 48-32. So far in the offseason, the Dallas Cowboys have been dealing with free agency, resigning’s, player issues and contract deals. Speaking of contract deals, one Cowboys star is on the brink of a possible contract holdout for the 2024 football season.
Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver CeeDee Lamb Awaiting New Contract
Cowboys star wideout CeeDee Lamb has been the team’s top wide receiver for the last three seasons. In 2023, Ceedee Lamb caught 135 passes for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns for Dallas. He is a main target for Dak Prescott through the air. Lamb could receive up to $29 million dollars in salary over a four-year span with the Dallas Cowboys if the team resigns him to a deal.
While he waits for an extension, CeeDee Lamb is likely to not participate in OTA’s during this offseason. This would not help the Cowboy’s case, as they have had former players go into free agency recently. Dallas is in need of players for 2024, including another big-play wide receiver besides Lamb. Brandin Cooks has been listed on the roster alongside the Dallas Cowboys star since the departure of Michael Gallup.
Cowboys Off The Field Issues
In recent days, news was released that the Dallas Cowboys have had some trouble. Micha Parsons has been a key component of the Cowboys’ defense in the last few seasons. He is known to fly around and be all over the field. Parsons always seems to be in the right spot to make plays. But, he is starting to become disliked in the Dallas Cowboys organization.
Micah Parsons lets his play speak for itself as most see on the football field. Players have called the linebacker “selfish” on the team due to his antics behind the scenes. Parsons is another player that is due for a contract extension this season.
The Dallas Cowboys front office will have to make a decision on their star linebacker in the near future for their football team. If he does not get his act together, Parsons could be on the way out of Dallas if the issues continue. A lot has been said about Dak Prescott and the possible trade rumors after last season. But, if the Dallas Cowboys do not make a move on their key players extensions or in the NFL Draft, they could in for a long season in 2024!
