The earliest round game will be held on June 9 at the Nassau County Stadium, which is about 35 km east of Manhattan. Building a World-Class Cricket Stadium

To ensure the success of the event, the ICC and United States Cricket converged on Nassau County Stadium to create a world-class venue with a 34,000 capacity in six months. The international football arena where the eight matches of the World Cup, including three of India’s games, are to be held was dedicated by world sprinter legend Usain Bolt on Wednesday.
Chris Tetley, ICC Head of Events, assured us that the playing surface would conform to all international dirt criteria. “Whether a new stadium establishes smaller sizes or not could always be recast, but the Nassau County ground is not a token-sized one. It is 75 yards on the east/west side and 67 yards on the north/south side. It is not smaller than the one-at-one on Wankhede Stadium.
The drainage facilities will also be world-class,” Tetley confirmed during an interview.
The site witnessed only a king of the wild a few years ago. The ICC had an accelerated change session to prepare the structure for the pillaging. Beyond the middle area with four primary flight zone wickets, there are also six practice pitches in the nearby vicinity; open pitches have been specifically constructed for this event.

Expert Pitch Preparation

The tents creating the galleries are a temporary eye-catching feature brought in from the Formula One track in Las Vegas and will then be shipped back out when the tournament is over. This innovative step is aimed at making sure the intended venue is prepared and flexible for the T20 World Cup while bringing more convenience for further events.
