Arizona State Loses First-Team All-Big 12 Running Back To The Transfer Portal
The Arizona State Sun Devils are set to lose a dynamic playmaker from their backfield, as running back Raleek Brown has officially entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. Brown, who transferred to ASU from USC prior to the 2025 season, will once again be exploring his options for a new collegiate home.
Arizona State RB Raleek Brown To Test To Portal
Brownโs tenure in Tempe was brief and marked by limited action. He appeared in just four games for the Sun Devils during the 2025 campaign, primarily used in a reserve role. He recorded 14 carries for 54 yards and a touchdown, adding one reception for seven yards. His most notable performance came in the team’s season-opening victory over Wyoming, where he rushed for 38 yards and his lone touchdown of the season.
The decision to transfer marks the next chapter in a collegiate career that began with high expectations. Brown was a highly-rated, four-star recruit out of Mater Dei High School in Southern California when he signed with USC. As a true freshman for the Trojans in 2022, he showcased his versatile skill set, rushing for 227 yards and three touchdowns while also catching 16 passes for 175 yards and another three scores. However, his role diminished in 2023, leading to his initial transfer to Arizona State.
Back In The Portal
Now back in the portal, Brown offers potential suitors an experienced player with proven speed and playmaking ability in the open field. His history as both a runner and a receiver out of the backfield could make him an attractive target for programs looking to add an offensive weapon. For Arizona State, his departure opens up a roster spot and further clarifies the running back depth chart as coach Kenny Dillingham continues to shape the program for the 2026 season.
