Cody Rhodes has not forgotten the people who have helped him throughout his career and will always be there to help them in any situation, and he proved it in Friday Night SmackDown. Although he is teaming up with Roman Reigns for WWE Bad Blood, he still remembers friends like Kevin Owens, who supported him throughout his battle against Solo Sikoa’s cruel vision for The Bloodline.
Kevin Owens continued his rivalry against Bloodline, and at the Live Premier event of SmackDown, he was going to fight all of Bloodline. Still, he would probably need some partners to face the Bloodline. As the famous Austrian psychologist Fritz Heider says, ‘The Enemy of my enemy is my friend’, Kevin Owens joined forces with ‘The Street Profits’ against Bloodline. The Bloodline’s members include Solo Sikoa as Tribal Chief, Jacob Fatu as enforcer, and Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa as other members.
Brawl Before the Match
Although DIY’s Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano, who were supposed to be Kevin Owens’ partners before being ambushed by The Bloodline backstage, tried to return for payback, they too were overpowered by The Bloodline’s strength especially Jacob Fatu playing a massive role in defeating them. When The Bloodline attacked DIY before they could join Kevin Owens in the Six-Man Tag Team main event, The Street Profits stepped in to help even Owens in a pre-match brawl, replacing Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa.
Cody Rhodes Interference
Both teams brutally beat each other, and as the match got out of control, the referees had to stop the brawl. A lot of referees rushed into the Ring to stop everyone, but one thing that we noticed was that Solo Sikoa was not present in the pre-match fight, as he sent his enforcers and other members. After that, the real match between the Kevin Owens team and the Solo Sikoas versions of Bloodline started.
The Bloodline continued to attack The Street Profits and Kevin Owens. At the beginning, things seemed under control, but it went out of hand when Jacob Fatu, the enforcer, showed his strength and madness. As the American Nightmare saw his friend beaten badly, the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes came to help. He came running towards the ring like a wild animal with a chair. Cody struck The Bloodline with chair shots, hit Jacob Fatu with a powerful Cody Cutter, and ended the night by shaking hands and hugging Owens as SmackDown went off the air.
Final Thoughts
At the end of the fight, Kevin Owens was holding a chair, and it seemed like he was going to strike Rhodes with it. But when Cody Rhodes faced him and looked at him, Kevin Owens threw the chair, and they both hugged each other. They not only saved their friendship but also their long legacy.
Both champions seemed ready for the upcoming Premier Event of Bad Blood, which will be a very interesting event with multiple stories reaching new heights.
