The Charlotte Hornets (13-41) will wait to see one of their key players return. Although their record may be poor at the moment, they are looking to make a strong surge to end their season. However, to do so, important contributors need to step up. But that’s impossible to do if they are unable to even step foot on the court.
This is an issue that this team hopes to overcome soon. While they have one of the more dazzling players in the league. Watching him play and showcasing his abilities has been far and few between.
Do you still see the Hornets keeping it close against the Utah Jazz in their first game back tomorrow?
Charlotte Hornets Injury Update
LaMelo Ball will not play in Salt Lake City tomorrow. Despite hoping for a return from a rising young player, he has been ruled out. His last action came against the Houston Rockets on January 26. While he participated in practice, it appears he was on track to suit up, he will not.
The lingering injury remains on his right ankle. Staying healthy has been an issue for Ball. In March of the 2022-2023 season he underwent surgery. The operation was performed on the same right ankle which continues to give him trouble. However, to start this season, things looked promising. But Thursday marks the 12th missed game in a row.

This disappoints fans who obviously enjoy watching their favorite star play. Even if the Charlotte Hornets are not your favorite team, watching Ball take the court is fun entertainment. While you hope to see him stay healthy, when available, he enjoys making highlight reels for YouTube.
Charlotte Hornets With LaMelo
The team has Miles Bridges. The frontcourt player continues to establish himself as a force to be reckoned with. But when LaMelo plays, he provides dynamic playmaking from the backcourt for this Charlotte Hornets team. Additionally, he is an affect piece on this roster.
His vision and ability to affect the game all around separates him from others. Especially for a younger talent. he’s someone to watch. This shows in the stars as well. His last triple-double came against the Dallas Mavericks on November 5. He went for 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists in that matchup.
Despite the loss to Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks, LaMelo Ball made history to become the FIRST player in Hornets history to get 10 triple doubles!?

And even though the Mavericks are not exactly known for their defense, it’s the ability to flirt with double-digits in three categories every night that separates him. Fully healthy he raises the ceiling of this team by significant margins. But because of injury issues, getting him team chemistry cohesive can also be an issue moving forward.
Charlotte Hornets Hoping For The Best
Regardless, history indicates that Ball will miss time. This partly explains why Brandon Miller is in the role that he is in for this franchise. Even though he is not a favorite to be in the running for the Rookie-of-the-Year award, his play dictates entering him into the conversation.
However, the likes of Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren are going to take home that prize. Regardless, Miller is having a nice initial campaign in the NBA. Especially if Ball continues to struggle with injuries, the Charlotte Hornets will continue to turn to him and Bridges as cornerstones.
