I am an avid NFL fan and enjoy watching and covering it the most. I previously wrote and was a podcaster for the online publications Pro Sports Fanatics and Jersey Column. NFL is king. I am also a NBA fan and watch it from time to time, more when the NFL season ends. My teams are the Patriots and Celtics as tough as it is to be a Patriots fan right now. I am optimistic that Jerod Mayo will turn this team in the right direction!

Dartmouth College graduates and guests will get quite the treat at the college’s graduation on June 9th. Some colleges get more notable speakers than others, but Dartmouth is bringing their graduation speakers to another level. One of the greatest tennis stars the sport has ever seen will address the Dartmouth…

It’s the best two words in sports: Game 7. That’s what will be happening between the Orlando Magic and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Cleveland could not get any help on offense in the fourth quarter except from star guard Donovan Mitchell. On the other hand, the Magic spread the wealth beautifully, with three players scoring over 20 points. The Orlando Magic slid past the Cleveland Cavaliers 103-96 to force a Game 7 in Cleveland. The Cavaliers are the more experienced and talented team, having four players who have averaged 15 points or more this season. The Magic only have two players…

Hold on, you’re telling me the New England Patriots are actually picking offensive players in the draft? That’s an absolutely alien concept. A new era in New England has started. New de-facto general manager and director of scouting Eliot Wolf and Jerod Mayo are making their mark on this team with head coach and de-facto general manager Bill Belichick gone. The New England Patriots have added two wide receivers to the team in the 2024 NFL Draft. And boy, they need them badly. The Patriots have had subpar wide receivers the past couple of seasons. Ever since Julian Edelman retired,…

The New England Patriots knew they needed to get a wide receiver in the 2024 NFL Draft. Their receiving core was one of the weakest in the NFL last season. Having Kendrick Bourne and Demario Douglas as your top wide receivers is not going to get the job done. The Patriots originally had the 34th pick, which was the second pick in the second round. However, they made a trade with the Los Angeles Chargers and dropped down to the 37th pick. After trading down three picks, the New England Patriots drafted Washington wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk. It’s a receiver,…

The New England Patriots have selected their next potential franchise quarterback. They have moved on from the Mac Jones era, drafting North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye with the third overall pick. Maye had a stellar 2022 season and did not have as good of a 2023 campaign. The quarterback threw for 4,321 yards, 38 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and a completion percentage of 66.2%. In the 2023 season, Maye threw for 3,608 yards, 24 touchdowns, nine interceptions, and a completion percentage of 63.3%. While Drake Maye does not have quite as much hype as USC quarterback and first-overall pick Caleb Williams…

The Los Angeles Chargers have signed former Baltimore Ravens running back JK Dobbins to a one-year deal. Dobbins has had injury issues the past couple of seasons which has prohibited him from being a top running back in the NFL. Over the past three seasons, he missed 42 of the Ravens’ 51 games, including the last 16 of last season due to a torn Achilles. The 25-year-old running back has averaged 5.8 yards per carry in his career, the highest among running backs with at least 200 carries since 2020. Dobbins has produced a run of 10 or more yards…

It’s been 11 years since Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz made a powerful speech before a game in 2013 after the Boston Marathon bombing. That was a scary time and so many people were feeling down about the events that happened at the marathon finish line on Boylston Street. What Big Papi said encapsulated what we were all feeling at the time and let us know that everything was going to be okay. Let’s look back on that time and remember how special and unifying it was for the city. The Backdrop http://gty.im/166666108 The Boston Marathon bombing happened on…

A game between the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night had an unusually low number of free throws attempted. The Bucks won 104-91 against the first-place Celtics. This win knotted up the season series between the two Eastern Conference teams at 2-2. The refs were letting the guys play out there as only two free throws were attempted the entire game. Giannis’ Injury Contributed To Fewer Free Throw Attempts http://gty.im/2061710829 Another possible reason that there were such few free throw attempts was that Bucks’ star Giannis Antetokounmpo suffered a calf injury late in the third quarter and did…

The Iowa Hawkeyes narrowly defeated the UConn Huskies 71-69 in the Women’s Final Four on Saturday night. Despite Caitlin Clark only scoring 6 points on 3-11 shooting in the first half, the Hawkeyes pulled out the win. Clark and Iowa certainly didn’t have the best first half but they came back strong in the second half. Clark shot just 3-11 from three-point range in the game. The result of this game is strange because UConn had a better field goal percentage, three-point percentage, and free throw percentage than Iowa but still lost. UConn also had more points off turnovers, scoring…

After a vote in Jackson County, Missouri about extending sales tax dollars to renovate Arrowhead Stadium, I’m left with one big question. Why won’t billionaire owners of sports teams pay for their own stadium projects? Relying on public funding is ridiculous. Asking for the public’s help in funding sports teams’ expenditures is not uncommon. Nevertheless, it doesn’t make it any more right. Billionaire Owners Love Renovations https://twitter.com/_MLFootball/status/1775346305646071961?t=4RXXPMWv2lGFluH3s5-2NQ&s=19 I understand renovations, especially for a giant 76,416-seat stadium, are expensive. However, owners of NFL teams should still be more than capable of paying for them. This is corporate greed at its finest.…
