When thinking about WNBA greatness, one has to come up with the name A’ja Wilson. The veteran star has been on a WNBA record breaking streak this season and it has been fantastic to watch. Her team is currently sitting fourth on the overall standings and second in the Western Conference. Wilson and her team will attempt to surpass the Minnesota Lynx for the top spot in the West. It might not be a difficult feat as Wilson is continuing to play like the superstar she is.
A’ja Wilson Crushes it Against the Seattle Storm
It was a great Aces win today against the Seattle Storm. The team took the win 84-79 and a majority of the effort came from Wilson and Jackie Young. The forward played 35 minutes and managed to score 24 points to go along with a shocking 20 rebounds. Wilson was a machine on the boards as she snatched up every ball that fell her way. She looked unstoppable.
A’ja Wilson went 7-18 from the field and 10-10 from the free throw line to help land her 24-point night. The star’s defensive effort was also notable with four blocks and three steals. Eighteen of her rebounds came on the defensive end, helping the Aces fend off the Storm, making it nearly impossible for them to get second-chance buckets.

With her incredible season came a WNBA record being shattered. The forward now holds the record for most 20+ point nights in a row. As of right now, the ongoing record has been pushed to 34 games. The chance of someone breaking this record any time soon is very low. Also, it seems like Wilson could continue to add to this streak through the entire season.
Her lowest number this season is eleven points. Since then, there has been an explosion of 20-point games. Wilson has solidified herself as one of the best scorers in the league. It’s especially great to see that more people are watching the WNBA this season, thanks to rookie Caitlin Clark. The Las Vegas Aces have also been a pretty popular team, consistently filling seats before the influence of Clark.

Not only is she breaking league records, she is also breaking team records. Sunday, Wilson surpassed the scoring record for the Aces, 4,300, as she hit 4,301 points with the team. She was able to celebrate the record with a win against the Dallas Wings. Expect this star to break more records as the season continues.
A majority of social media is focusing heavily on Caitlin Clark and fellow rookie Angel Reese. However, Wilson has been seen trending online quite a lot now. It’s great to see her game being acknowledged. She’ll probably go down as one of the best players in Aces and league history.
Wilson is only 27-years-old. There are players who have played into their 40s. This means she has 10+ years to push herself and break more records. It will be exciting to see how many points she ends her career with and if she will do it all with the Aces. Diana Taurasi currently holds the record for most points scored in WNBA history at 10,423. The Aces forward now sits at 39th with 4,325. She’s just 93 points away from surpassing Tiffany Hayes, who sits at 38th. With the rate she is scoring, she’ll probably land at 35th by the end of the season.
