Eagles QB Hurts STINKER Gives Chargers 22-19 OT WIN
I rarely say this, but Jalen Hurts has had his worst game as an Eagles quarterback in a huge moment. The Eagles lost 22-19 in overtime to the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night, and Hurts was the biggest culprit of why they lost with the uncharacteristic turnovers that he had on this night, finishing with five turnovers, because the defense played well enough to win this game. So let’s get into some of the takeaways of this game.
Hurts’s Terrible Night
Hurts didn’t do himself any favors in this game, with those five turnovers, including the last interception of the game. He made some key throws at times in this game, but the Hurts detractors and haters will look at the tape and say this was the prime example of why he shouldn’t be the quarterback in Philadelphia anymore. He has some time to fix things, but they have to be fixed now because we don’t have the luxury to wait anymore. Which leads to the bigger issue. The OFFENSE.
The Eagles’ Offense is Officially Broken At This Point
The Downslide is coming soon if things aren’t fixed and the bleeding doesn’t stop. And this performance was after the Philadelphia coaches, including Nick Sirianni, looked at everything possible, right? The only solace I have in this is that the Playoffs are there for the taking with the Eagles playing the Raiders and Commanders, three of the final four games, so the Division “Should be in control,” but I don’t know with this offense at this point, but we will see.
Both Defenses Played Great in this Game
I want to shout out the Eagles’ defense for their performance in this game, sacking Justin Herbert seven times, and forcing a couple of turnovers. And this Chargers defense, led by Jesse Minter, confused this Philly offense all night long. Cam Hart played a tough, hard-nose football game in this one, and I tip my hat to him as an Eagles fan. The Philadelphia defensive line, led by Jordan Davis, gets my shoutout from them, along with Cooper DeJean. On to the Raiders
