Kaden Honeycutt Set to Replace Heim At Tricon Garage in the No. 11
TRICON announced that Honeycutt will be in the No. 11 truck for 2026! Last year, he finished second in points to that very same truck and a dominant Corey Heim. He was breaking truck series records left and right last year and even held the most en route to a title. Here’s what to expect in 2026.
What Should We Expect from Honeycutt In the No.11?
Something to consider is the increase with Justin Haley in the No. 16 Kaulig truck, along with Eckes in the McAnally-Hilgemann Racing No. 91. Two drivers who have proven to be elite in other series. And that Heim last year didn’t have to face. But of course, over the years, Honeycutt has shown a lot of talent, especially last year, his first full-time season in any national series.
Going all the way back to 2022 and 2023, when he earned top tens with backmarker teams at Phoenix and Bristol Dirt. Then there’s Niece, a team that’s always struggled unless a top talent is in one of their trucks. But when he was part-time for Niece in 2024, he earned multiple top tens and even back-to-back fourth places at both Kansas races.
Something that translated to his 2025 season. As Honeycutt became only the third of many Niece Motorsports to make the playoffs on points as well. Niece then fired him right before the playoffs for announcing his switch to a Toyota team (TRICON) for 2026. But on an even better team, the Toyota truck team, Halmar Friesen Racing Honeycutt, did even better.
Ending the season with back-to-back top fives for the first time in his career, he made the final four and finished second in points. With that runner-up finish in Martinsville being the closest Honeycutt’s gotten to his first career truck series win. But now that he’s in the eleven truck, which won eleven races last year. There’s zero doubt that the duo will get wins in 2026!
2026 Title Odds
He should be one of the favorites with his talent and now being in the ride that previously won the title. Still, it’s not going to be easy, as we’ve already been Haley and Eckes. But Heim’s dominance hid how competitive the truck field really was. Another driver who’s proven themselves in higher divisions, namely Xfinity, was one of the best truck series drivers last year, one of the only drivers not named Heim to win a truck series race.
With Corey Heim out of the way, and a year of getting used to the trucks again after spending a few years in the much different Xfinity cars, it means he should improve for the 2026 season. And that’s not even considering Smith’s teammate. Now that Riggs is out of the way, based purely on last year’s results, he’d be the most logical choice to earn that 2026 truck series title, even over points runner-up Honeycutt.
With nobody else being up front more often than the obvious. Layne Riggs was the Heim slayer last year. Both are the only truck series drivers, other than Heim, to have multiple wins in 2025, and wrecking Heim out of numerous wins.
Final Thoughts
With his biggest rival gone, Layne Riggs will be Honeycutt’s most significant challenge to helping the TRICON eleven repeat. Now, out of all the drivers confirmed so far, other than Majeski, who’s also a threat, they are all threats to Honeycutt’s title for now. But other possible returning drivers who could be a threat are our former Xfinity Series champion Daniel Hemric and reliable veteran Grant Enfinger. Thanks a bunch for reading!
