Arizona Cardinals Rule Out Kyler Murray for Remainder of 2025 Season
The Arizona Cardinals are in a predicament as quarterback Kyler Murray seemingly may not be the guy they were hoping him to be. He is in a situation
Kyler Murray Out for Remainder of the Season

On Friday, coach Jonathan Gannon announced that Kyler Murray had an out-of-state second opinion on his foot injury and will continue to get more test done, which leads to him not playing for the remainder of the season.
“It wasn’t progressing the way that we wanted, so we went and got a different opinion, some different people and kind of looked at it, and it’s just not right. … I feel bad for the quarterback. He got hurt and he wasn’t healthy enough to play. So, I mean that’s first and foremost. That’s where I would leave it right now.”
Murray has not played since Week 5 and will finish the season completing 110 of 161 (63.3%) of his passes for 962 yards with six passing touchdowns to three interceptions. He also had 29 carries for 173 yards (6.0 yards per rush) with one rushing touchdown.
Gannon would also not answer when asked if he believes Murray will be the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals next season. His contract is going to be intriguing to say the least, as he is in the midst of his five-year, $230 million contract that runs through 2029.
The contract has two more seasons guaranteed on it with a cap hit of $53.26 million in 2026 and $43.535 million in 2027. The 2028 season is a team option with a $46.35 million cap hit as well. If the Cardinals want to trade him this offseason, it would include more than $57.7 million dead cap for the team.
It will be interesting to see where Kyler Murray suits up for his next start and what this injury means for the trajectory of his career.
