The Cowboys Complete Epic Comeback Against The Eagles before Thanksgiving
The Cowboys came back from 21 points down to earn the 24-21 win thanks to a Brandon Aubrey GW Field Goal in the final seconds. The Eagles fully collapsed like no other after that 21-0 start, thanks to penalties and miscues, including a dumbfounding special teams fumble by Xavier Gipson. Those types of plays lead to a collapse that would tie the largest collapse by a defending Super Bowl champion. Here are some takeaways from this game.
Dak Prescott Breaks Franchise Record
The Cowboys’ comeback was largely thanks to Dak Prescott, who broke the Dallas franchise passing yards record, surpassing Tony Romo for that mark, finishing the game with 354 passing yards and two touchdowns. Philadelphia’s defense got exposed a bit once Reed Blankenship went down with his thigh injury. The Cowboys were dominant in this second half, thanks to the Eagles’ miscues.Â
The Eagles Fully Collapse
Philadelphia played this game so badly that once they went up 21-0, I wanted to throw up throughout the entire second half. The turnovers were killers, especially the Gipson turnover, but it is still the situational football that killed this team once again on offense. THE PENALTIES BY FRED JOHNSON AND MATT PRYOR killed two crucial drives in the second half, especially the Fred Johnson illegal hands to the face penalty after a pass to Devonta Smith.
The Barkley Fumble was a killer as well, plus the Elliott field goal miss early in the fourth quarter. This tape was so bad, Philadelphia needs to reevaluate everything about this OFFENSE NOW! I have been saying it for weeks, but NOW SHOULD BE THAT WAKE-UP CALL FOR SURE! I think a change is NEEDED AT THE OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR, LIKE THE DESAI SITUATION in 2023.Â
Final Thoughts
The Eagles still have a lot in front of them, but like I have been saying, the changes have to be made and made right now. Philly fans need to see more consistent offense, or else they’re going to riot on Broad Street to fire Patullo. And I would love to join them in those chants if the Eagles don’t change things soon from the outskirts.
