San Antonio Spurs Missing Superstar for 2-3 Weeks
The San Antonio Spurs have gotten off to a great start to the 2025-26 NBA season, but things could be starting to collapse on the team. With the team looking like a team on the rise, one of their star players is going to be out for at least a few games. Let’s take a deeper dive into what this means for the San Antonio Spurs going forward.
San Antonio Spurs Without Victor Wembanyama For One Week

The San Antonio Spurs are going to be without superstar center Victor Wembanyama for at least one week as he is recovering from a left calf strain, per ESPN’s Shams Charania. He already missed the team’s game on Friday against the Golden State Warriors, but it will be some more time until he gets back into game action.
However, the team is being extra cautious with the injury as they are expecting to reevaluate the big man in two to three weeks. Wemby was listed as questionable early Sunday before officially being ruled out. After Sunday’s game, coach Mitch Johnson explained the cautious approach for the superstar.
“Obviously, we’ve seen around this league recently, the calf-tightness thing is not something you want to take lightly. Don’t want to push it there.”
Wembanyama has been a superstar to begin the season for the San Antonio Spurs as in 12 games, he is averaging 26.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 3.6 blocks, and 1.1 steals in 34.7 minutes. He is also shooting the basketball at an outstanding clip with a 50.2/34.5/85.7 shooting split thus far.
The San Antonio Spurs are currently sitting as the fifth seed in the Western Conference with a 9-4 record. It will be intriguing to see how they are able to play without Wembanyama in the lineup for a few weeks.
