If You’re a Fan of These F1 drivers, You’ll Love These NASCAR Drivers
NASCAR and F1 don’t have much in common, so we’ll focus on something they do share: drivers. The lifeblood of any motorsport and the real entry point for any new fans. So if you’re an F1 fan interested in NASCAR, which drivers would you be into?
George Russell: You’d Be A Fan of Ross Chastain
Both drivers are very aggressive and have a history of feuding with other drivers. But they present themselves as very polite off track. They get a few wins a year, and while they’ve come close, they haven’t put it together yet for a title.
Both drivers started as underdogs, too. With Russell struggling his 1st few years at Williams and Chastain going from backmarker team to backmarker team to backmarker, this goes on for a while. Before going to Trackhouse and winning races with them.
Ocon: You’d Be A Fan of Stenhouse
Both are drivers with the most midpack of midpack teams. And they aren’t the most popular with fans and other drivers. Owing to their very defensive and aggressive styles, and some things they’ve said and done to others that rubbed some the wrong way.
They’re very feisty and come from blue-collar backgrounds, having to climb the racing ladder the hard way. Both are talented drivers who outdrive their equipment and will get a few shock results in a season.
Max Verstappen: You’d Be A Fan of Carson Hocevar
Max is a hard driver to match, as no one in NASCAR has been as close to being as dominant as he’s been recently. Still, if you want to see someone excellent, aggressive, outspoken, willing to stand their ground, and very passionate about sim and actual racing, then Carson Hocevar is your man!
He’s very much a young Max Verstappen, a prodigy with a very aggressive style and tons of raw talent who everyone will know will be a champion one day. He has a strong mentality, like when he was confronted by Zane Smith but didn’t apologize.
While in an underfunded equipment, he’s still almost won a few times this season, and many insiders are excited about his future. Not to mention he streams very frequently on Twitch, like Max does. Not to mention you’ll know exactly what they like or don’t like, without hiding opinions from the media.
Liam Lawson: You’d Be A Fan of Noah Gragson
Both drivers are young drivers who have shown tons of promise before, but have had terrible luck in the top division. Both are very aggressive drivers and aren’t afraid to stick their noses where most drivers wouldn’t and make some contact.
They’re very outspoken and cocky too, not afraid to show the world how proud they are to be here and of their driving ability. Also, both are at midpack teams now; there’s reason to hope their situations can improve and they can find themselves winning races soon.
Charles Leclerc: You’d Be A Fan of Kyle Larson
While Larson has a lot more luck, like a lot more luck, they both share a lot in common. Both are on the most historic and successful teams in their respective sports and have a ton of raw pace.
Both in qualifying and in the race. And they are very likely to make an exciting send-it type of move to take a position. Have a talent for getting big, essential wins, too, and are very friendly in the media but still honest when they’re upset about something.
Lando Norris: You’d Be A Fan of William Byron
Both are drivers with a lot of pace, especially in qualifying. Who were prodigies who came when their teams were at a low point and used their raw talent to help them get back to the top? Both will get a few wins a year and have come close, but they still haven’t won that title. Both are huge sim racing enthusiasts. Thanks a bunch for reading!
