Purdue Overmatched by Ohio State Football 34-10
Purdue gave Ohio State a good effort in a home football game in West Lafayette, Indiana. However, Purdue was eventually outclassed by Ohio State and lost 34-10. Ohio State should expect now what they got from Purdue. When a football team, like the Biolmakers (who, by the way, has not won a Big Ten Conference game this season), plays Ohio State, the Buckeyes need to expect they will get their opponent’s best effort. Ohio State faces weak teams for the rest of the regular season. They need to stay sharp for the College Football Playoff. How far do you think Ohio State will get this year?
Purdue and Ohio State Scoring Summary

In the first quarter, there was only one score, which was scored by the Biolermakers. Spencer Porath kicked a 40-yard field goal to give Purdue a 3-0 lead.
In the second quarter, Ohio State reeled off 24 consecutive points. C.J. Donaldson ran for a 1-yard touchdown. That gave Ohio State a 7-3 lead. Then, Jeremiah Smith caught a 35-yard touchdown. That gave Ohio State a 14-3 lead. Then Lincoln Keinholz scored on a 3-yard touchdown run. He came in as a change of pace. Ohio State was beating Purdue 21-3. Finally, right before halftime, Jayden Fielding kicked a career-long 49-yard field goal. That gave Ohio State a 24-3 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, there was no scoring in the third quarter. Ohio State Quartertback, Julian Sayin, threw a big interception as Ohio State was driving near the Biolermaker goal line. The interception certainly cost Ohio State three points, and may have cost them more.
In the fourth quarter, Ohio State took a 27-3 lead on a 45-yard fild goal from Fielding. He had a career day. Then Ohio State running back Donaldson scored another touchdown. Ohio State lead 34-3. In garbage time, against the Ihio State backups on defense, Jesse Watson scored for the Biolermakers, making the score 34-10 Ohio State.
Ross-Ade Problems
The Buckeyes are only 2-3 in their last five trips to Ross-Ade Stadium. They lost in West Lafayette in 2009, 2011 and 2018, with the last of those three being a particulaly costly loss keeping the Buckeyes from a shot at a national championship. Ohio State finished 12-1, beat arch-rival Michigan, won the Big Ten Championship and won the Rose Bowl during the 2018 season, but that one 49-28 blemish vs. the Boilermakers left the team out of that year’s College Football Playoff in favor of Big 12 champion Oklahoma.

Conclusion
After the hard-fought win today at Purdue, Ohio State moves to 9-0. The Buckeyes continue to set up a clash with Indiana (who barely won on the road today) in the Big Ten Championship Game. This was a tough road game. With a couple of backups in, Ohio State’s performance was uninspiring.
