Philadelphia Eagles Make Massive Trade Ahead of 2025 NFL Trade Deadline
The Philadelphia Eagles continue to add to their roster in an attempt to repeat as Super Bowl champions as they made a rare Saturday in-season trade. They were able to acquire a Pro Bowl-level player in basically a salary dump type of trade. Let’s take a deeper dive into what the trade is and what it means going forward.
Philadelphia Eagles Trade for Jaire Alexander

The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to a trade on Saturday evening with the Baltimore Ravens for cornerback Jaire Alexander and a 2027 seventh-round pick in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick. This seems to come as a bit of a surprise as Alexander signed a one-year, $4 million contract this offseason with the Ravens.
Alexander has not been on the field too often for the Ravens this season as he has played a total of 61 snaps while being a healthy inactive player. He is a former two-time Pro Bowl cornerback with the Green Bay Packers, and this trade helps bolster the Eagles’ secondary by pairing him with Cooper DeJean.
This trade seemingly pushes cornerbacks Adoree’ Jackson and Kelee Ringo down the depth chart, but this also adds some intrigue. If Alexander is able to get back on the field and play in the Eagles’ next game out of this week’s bye, he would be debuting on the road at Lambeau Field against his former team that he spent the first seven years of his career with.
For the Ravens, this is a chance to get Alexander to a new home and getting a pick in return to move up one round. It will be intriguing to see how he fits in defensive coordinator Vic Fangio’s schemes as he is a veteran coach that has shown the ability to step up. Philly currently ranks 18th in defensive scoring with 23.1 points per game allowed, so Alexander could be the big trade for the defending champions ahead of Tuesday’s NFL Trade Deadline.
