Montie Quinn Shatters NCAA Rushing Record With 522 Rushing Yards for Curry College
Curry College is in Milton, MA. Montie Quinn is a running back for Curry College. Never heard of either? Until Saturday afternoon, neither did most of America. But now we will forever introduce Quinn as the RB who ran for an NCAA record 522 yards. Quinn likely will never have to buy a drink in Milton again.
The stunning game by Quinn was a featured highlight on ESPN and has the college world buzzing. Curry College is a Division III school, and they used the record performance to beat Nichols College 71-27.

Quinn Adds 7 TDs to His Rushing Gem
If the 522 yards on 20 carries weren’t enough, Quinn scored seven touchdowns.
The TD runs were breathtaking. Like a highlight reel, he scored on runs of 64, 30, 76, 84, 58, 2, and a final, electrifying 85-yard sprint. These scoring plays alone accounted for a staggering 399 yards. Equally incredible was that all but one of his carries came within the first three quarters, as the Curry College offense snapped the ball a mere 39 times throughout the entire game.
The previous Division III record of 465 yards was set by Cartel Brooks of Heidelberg in 2013. When compared to all of the NCAA, regardless of the Division, Quinn surpassed the previous record of 427 yards held by Oklahoma RB Samaje Perine since 2014. It was a monumental achievement for the sport and recreation management student, who has now rushed for 1,450 yards and 17 touchdowns in just six games this season, solidifying his status as a D3football.com preseason All-America selection.
The New Superstar is Humbled by his Performance
After the game, Quinn was quick to share the credit. “I’m just humbled and grateful. Breaking the record is something I never imagined coming into today,” he said after the game. “The O-line was dominating all game; receivers were blocking like crazy, and coaches put us in position to make plays. This belongs to all of us; I just happened to be the one carrying the ball.”
Curry coach Todd Parsons knows he witnessed history. “What Montie did today was nothing short of amazing,” he said. “Breaking the NCAA rushing record is a monumental achievement. I think he’d be the first to tell you, records like this don’t happen alone. Our offensive line played lights out, our receivers blocked downfield, and our quarterback made great decisions.”
