Denver Broncos Star Linebacker Set To Make Debut Against New York Giants
The Denver Broncos have one of the best defenses in the entire NFL, and are getting a huge reinforcement against the New York Giants. Dre Greenlaw has suffered multiple setbacks throughout the offseason and was placed on injured reserve ahead of Denver’s Week 3 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers. He was eligible to return to the practice field this week and is set to make his debut in Denver.
Broncos Linebacking Core Gets Huge Boost
One of the weak points in Denver’s defense is its thinness at linebacker. Losing Drew Sanders and Dre Greenlaw hurt them tremendously. Greenlaw tried to return within the first two weeks, but Head Coach Sean Payton and his staff opted to give him more time to rehab and rest, ensuring he was 100% healthy, and placed him on injured reserve. After suffering multiple flare-ups with his quad, he was able to practice three times this week for the first time in 2025.
After practicing in full yesterday, Greenlaw is officially going against the Giants. Having him in the middle of the field tomorrow will be huge, especially when they have to try to stop Cam Skattebo. It is expected that he’ll be on a snap count, but it still gives DC Vance Joseph another huge piece to work with. It’ll be interesting to see who starts alongside him, as Justin Strnad has done an excellent job stepping up in his absence.
Both Teams Are Going At It On Social Media
The Broncos and Giants have both been adding to the rivalry on social media. Jonathan Cooper had a lot to say about rookie QB Jaxson Dart in his press conference with the media: “He’s a young guy. He’s feelin’ himself a little bit. He’s out there running around. He’s got the chain on. He’s dancing. I feel like everybody needs something, you know.”
Nik Bonitto joined the party, putting out a tweet calling the Giants fanbase delusional, but then later deleted it. This has provided a spark to this game between both fan bases, creating an endless amount of arguments through the media. The Broncos need to be sharp tomorrow on both sides of the ball, as the Giants are not a team they should overlook.
Defensively, the Broncos should have a field day. The Giants’ offensive line is banged up, as they’ll be missing their starting center in tomorrow’s game. As a whole, their offensive line hasn’t played well all season, so it’ll be fun to see if the Broncos can put immediate pressure on Dart.
