Minnesota Vikings Blow Out Bengals
The Minnesota Vikings’ defense was the story in this game; they only allowed 10 points. Defensive back Isaiah Rodgers became the first player in NFL history with an interception return for a touchdown, a fumble returned for a touchdown, and two forced fumbles in a single game. The Minnesota Vikings’ defense dominated in the first quarter, so the Cincinnati Bengals could not regroup and recover in this game. Quarterback Carson Wentz didn’t have a bad afternoon himself; he was 14 for 20 and had two touchdowns.
The Vikings played great on both sides of the ball, which in turn put the Bengals’ heads on a swivel, who could not get anything going on offense or even get a stop on defense. Even more of a nightmare for the Bengals, they lost tight end Noah Fant to a concussion during the game.
Jake Browning was 19 for 27, one touchdown and two interceptions. While Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase was also held to only five catches for 50 yards and a fumble lost. The Bengals showed struggle against the Vikings defense which only held the Bengals to 171 yards of total offense.
Ahead to Next Week
The Bengals will have to have a better performance next week when they play Monday night against the Denver Broncos and not be embarrassed on prime time. While the Minnesota Vikings will head overseas and head to Ireland to play the Pittsburgh Steelers who barely got passed the New England Patriots. The Vikings will have a tough task to get past the Steelers defense who is stingy on giving up points. Can the Isaiah Rodgers and the Vikings defense continue to have a monster defensive game against the Steelers?
