New York Giants’ Offense Show Signs Of Life In Opening Half Against Dallas Cowboys
The New York Giants entered today’s road game against the Dallas Cowboys in search of answers. The offense looked anemic. They were unable to muster an offensive touchdown in a Week 1 loss to the Washington Commanders. Would a trip to Dallas help get the offense on track?
New York Giants’ Offense Got Off To a Hot Start
The offense of the New York Giants began this afternoon’s game with a drive that looked like it would never end. Quarterback Russell Wilson marched the team down the field on a whooping 16-play opening drive that took up more than half of the first quarter. A 50-yard completion from Wilson to Wide Receiver Wan’Dale Robinson set New York up well. Unfortunately, a few penalties forced the Giants to settle for a field goal on the opening drive.
New York’s second drive of the game followed a similar script to the opening drive. The Giants again stalled in the red zone. New York took a 6-0 lead early in the second quarter. “Big Blue’s” defense also looked ferocious to begin the game. Dallas eventually began to crack the code as the first half went on. They had a touchdown and a field goal on back-to-back drives late in the second quarter.
A big completion from Wilson to Wide Receiver Malik Nabers helped New York score its first touchdown of 2025. The Dallas offense responded with a touchdown of its own. The Giants took a 13-10 lead into the locker room.
What Must New York Do To Hang On and Win?
It was a strong first half for the New York Giants. With Dallas coming alive on offense late in the half, Wilson must continue his high level of play over the final two quarters. Wilson finished the first half 17-of-20 for 235 yards and a passing touchdown. He looked like the Seahawks version of himself in the first half.Â
