Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Dazzles Against Former Team
Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers turned back the clock in the first half this afternoon against the New York Jets. Rodgers called MetLife Stadium home during his two-year stint with the Jets. He had a great opening half. He finished the first half 11-of-14 with 159 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. He had touchdowns on Pittsburgh’s opening drive and its final drive before halftime. The Jets took a 19-17 lead into the locker room. Can the star quarterback keep it going in the second half?
What Must Aaron Rodgers Do To Win In Week 1?
The issue for the Pittsburgh Steelers in New Jersey has been its normally stout defense. Jets Quarterback Justin Fields made the Steelers pay after moving on from him this offseason. He had 164 total yards and a passing touchdown. Rodgers will look to keep up his high level of play in the second half. The Jets and Steelers swapped quarterbacks this offseason, and both have looked comfortable in Week 1.
Final Thoughts
Both of these squads entered the regular season looking to lean on their defense to keep them in games. That was not the case in the first half. Whatever quarterback between Rodgers and Fields can play better in the final 30 minutes will help their team start the season 1-0.
