Jeff Teague’s Critical 520 Podcast Comments on Kevin Durant have gone to Another Level
Former Atlanta Hawks point guard Jeff Teague is making the rounds lately with his Club 520 Podcast as of late and now he’s stepped into a bit of a land mine, according to some on Social Media. He had some interesting comments about the newly acquired Houston Rocket Kevin Durant. Durant is one of those polarizing players, especially when it comes to how he shows his leadership as the best player on a team and how he elevates his teammates. Thus, the whole crux of the conversation that he was having on the podcast about KD.
What Jeff Teague said about Kevin Durant
Here is what Jeff actually said about Kevin Durant. “You know how I feel about Kevin Durant, I think he’s one of the best players ever,” Teague said. “But I don’t think he has the ability to take a questionable team and elevate them dudes to a certain level.” I think he has a solid point. Other than the early Thunder days, when KD was the main star of the team, he hasn’t been past the second round, other than the two championships with Golden State.
I respect KD as much as the next player, especially as an Elite Scorer, but as a leader, he needs to work on that aspect of his game if this Rockets team wants to get past the first round this season. Because the pressure is now on in H-Town. Durant is one of those guys who is going to be a player that every NBA fan is going to keep their eyes on this season, as he is going to be part of a contender that could maybe dethrone the Thunder in the Western Conference and potentially get to the NBA Finals.
Final Thoughts
Jeff Teague has been one of the latest former players to have a podcast as of late, and that’s a good thing. I also personally agree with these comments that he made on the Club 520 the other day, but the fact of the matter is that many people aren’t going to like these comments, probably including KD himself.
The only way that KD is going to shut up the critics this season in Houston is if he WINS. As they always say, WINNING shuts people up, unless you are a certain quarterback who just won the Lombardi trophy, but that’s another argument for another blog post. Total Apex Sports will have more NBA coverage like this leading up to the new season and will have plenty of coverage throughout the 2025-26 Season.
