Top Five Least Valuable NFL Franchises
Before the NFL season begins, every franchise’s total value according to Sportico gets released for the people to see. NFL franchises make money by the barrel. However, there will be some that don’t make as much as others. The NFL is no different when it looks at the dollar sign of each franchise. With the 2025 valuation numbers, it is interesting to see who the five least valuable franchises are.
1. Cincinnati Bengals- $5.5 Billion
This one is not a surprise at all. After all, the Bengals have been known to take the cheaper route in negotiations and other business ventures. Look at how the Shemar Stewart and Trey Hendrickson holdouts have been handled. Ever since Mike Brown became the owner in 1991, he has had a reputation for being cheap, and that has led to the franchise being valued the lowest in the NFL. At least they had a 17% jump in value.
2 Jacksonville Jaguars- $5.57 Billion
The Jaguars are always at the bottom of the valuation lists almost every season. It is no wonder there are always rumors of this team relocating. Although they did start to upgrade EverBank Stadium, that won’t be done until 2028. Whenever that gets complete (as construction always gets delayed throughout history), their expenses should go down, and they will be able to increase in value.
3 New Orleans Saints- $5.63 Billion
What a tremendous fall for the New Orleans Saints the past few years. The on-field product has been horrendous since Drew Brees retired. It gets worse as the Saints have decreased in their NFL franchise’s value. They dropped one spot in the rankings of NFL franchise values. That should be a wake-up call for them. Although they did have an 18% jump in value.
4. Arizona Cardinals- $5.66 Billion
Arizona may be in the top five least valuable NFL franchise list, but this year comes with good news. First, they had a 17% jump in value, which is always great. Second is that they went from being the 30th most valued team to the 29th. There is progress there, that is a positive. Hopefully, they continue to increase their value financially.
5. Indianapolis Colts- $5.72 Billion
This is not the Indianapolis Colts’ year. Not only did the owner, Jim Irsay, suddenly pass away in May, but the franchise value in the rankings fell one spot. Well, they did get a 15% jump in value, though, at least there is a positive. With so many unknowns surrounding this team, the Colts financially are one of the weakest clubs in the league.
Final Thoughts On the Least Valuable NFL Franchises
While these five NFL franchises make the lowest amount of money, it is still a nice chunk of change. The lowest amount is $5.5 billion. That is an insane amount of money in general for them to make. Unfortunately for the five above, it is the lowest in the league. Total Apex Sports covers NFL content, transactions, and other news.
