Tyrod Taylor Undergoes Successful Minor Knee Surgery
Tyrod Taylor just can’t catch a break in the NFL. He is such a talented QB and always comes across as a very nice person. However, he can’t stay healthy, and that has led to him being a journeyman quarterback. Well, guess what happened? Taylor has to undergo yet another surgery. This one is another addition to a long list, and it’s a particularly intriguing one for the Jets franchise.
What Is the Injury This Time?
Tyrod Taylor, during the summer, has been dealing with a knee injury. “It has been bothering me for some time, and after further evaluation, surgery was needed to fix the issue,” Taylor said. Jets Head Coach Aaron Glenn, in a press conference, stated that Taylor’s injury is “a minor scope,” and it had to get done. That is unfortunate for Taylor, as it would have looked intriguing seeing him in green and white.
How Long Will Tyrod Taylor Be Out?
If all goes well in the healing process, he is expected to be available in the regular season. As for the preseason, though, he will not be playing a game for the New York Jets. A big issue with the QB is his lengthy injury history and being 36 years old. It is going to take longer for him to heal, and there is a real chance he might not be ready for the team in Week 1. However, in this department, time will tell how his body will heal.
What About The Other Jets QBs?
The Jets’ current QBs behind Justin Fields in the depth chart are Adrian Martinez and Brady Cook. Luckily for the Jets, both QBs played very well in the first preseason game against the Green Bay Packers. The favorite has to be Martinez, who was one of the standouts in that game, and he also played very well with the UFL’s Birmingham Stallions. However, things could change as Cook is an intriguing player.
Final Thoughts
It is hard to keep track of how many times Taylor has been injured. Fields will be the Week 1 starter for the Jets; however, the battle is wide open for the backup role. As for Tyrod Taylor, hopefully, he has a speedy recovery and can be ready to play if anything happens to Fields. For more NFL news, check out Total Apex Sports.
