Training Camp Day One Miami Dolphins Latest Update
The Miami Dolphins training camp is taking place in Miami Gardens, Florida, and already is full of excitement. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is looking to regain the trust of Wide Receiver Tyreek Hill after his comments following the 2024 season, and veteran Cornerback Artie Burns is awaiting an MRI to see if he has a torn ACL.

Hill is still rebuilding his relationship with his teammates this offseason after his comments at the end of the 2024 season. Hill removed himself from the last game of the season against the New York Jets, commenting to reporters after the game that he would like to play football elsewhere. Dolphins General Manager Chris Grier said Hill never requested a trade, and Hill apologized for and walked back his comments in February.
On the first day of training camp practice on Wednesday, Tagovailoa said, “It’s not just with me, it’s with a lot of the guys. I’m not the only one that heard that. You guys aren’t the only people that heard that.” Referring to the comments Hill made after the Jets game. He also said that “Everybody makes mistakes. It’s just some people, they’re in a spotlight and their deals get pushed out more than some others. So just got to cut him some grace.”
Dolphins reporter Marcel Louis-Jacques reported Burns went down with a knee injury during position drills shortly after team stretches and left the field on crutches. Burns signed with Miami this offseason and was expected to compete for one of the starting outside cornerback jobs — but he is now feared to have torn his ACL, pending an MRI.
Miami Dolphins Looking Ahead
The Miami Dolphins are already thin at the cornerback position, and the NFL season hasn’t even begun yet. When Head Coach Mike McDaniel was asked about looking into what is left in free agency, he responded that the team is comfortable with its current group, but it will always look to improve. The Miami Dolphins may have to look sooner than planned following Burns’ injury.
