Brooklyn Nets Select Drake Powell with the 22nd Pick in 2025 NBA Draft

With the 22nd pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, the Brooklyn Nets selected Drake Powell out of the North Carolina Tar Heels. This is the third of five first-round draft picks that the team has landed for the draft. With the team already drafting two guards in Egor Demin and Nolan Traore, this is an interesting selection. The Brooklyn Nets are stepping up and continuing to add to the frontcourt of their team as they drafted Drake Powell. Powell is listed at 6-foot-5 1/4 inches and 190 pounds and can jump out of the gym as he had a 43-inch max vertical, which was the best in the NBA Draft Combine. This move gives the team some shooting as he shot 48.3% from the floor and 37.9% from beyond the arc in his freshman season with the North Carolina Tar Heels. 

This pick became the Brooklyn Nets earlier this week as the Nets acquired it in the three-team trade that sent Kristaps Porzingis to the Atlanta Hawks. He is going to be an interesting selection as the team continues to add talent and would be intriguing going forward.

The future of the Brooklyn Nets roster seems to be interesting as they have a lot of young players in the frontcourt with the drafting of Egor Demin and Nolan Traore already.
