Whit Merrifield announced his retirement from Major League Baseball following 9 seasons earlier today. He posted his heartfelt retirement letter on social media. Merrifield’s MLB career included stints with the Kansas City Royals, Toronto Blue Jays, Philadelphia Phillies, and Atlanta Braves. He is a three-time MLB All-Star and led the league in hits in back-to-back seasons(2018, 2019.) He also led the league in stolen bases and doubles in 2021. He was also an “Iron Man” throughout his career. He played 145+ games six times and did not miss a game during the COVID-19-shortened 2020 campaign.
