Jack Twyman Dies
The six-time NBA All-Star Hall of Famer Jack Twyman, known for his off-court assist to Maurice Stokes, died at the age of 78. His story went from being an awkward player, cut three straight times by his high school basketball team, to becoming a star for the University of Cincinnati. He averaged 24.6 points and 16.5 rebounds per game. He played professionally with the Royals, who moved from Rochester, New York, to Cincinnati, following the 1956-57 season.
Alvan Adams Rookie Of the Year Award
With 33 points and 14 rebounds, the Phoenix Suns’ rookie Alvan Adams led the team to a 105-98 Game 3 victory over Boston in the NBA Finals. The Phoenix Suns selected him with the fourth pick of the 1975 NBA Draft, and he was chosen to play in the All-Star Game and won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award.
