NBA Announces All-Defensive Teams For 2024-2025 Season
The NBA announced the 2024-25 NBA All-Defensive teams on Thursday afternoon. Cleveland Cavaliers Power Forward Evan Mobley, Golden State Warriors Power Draymond Green, Atlanta Hawks Guard Dyson Daniels, Oklahoma City Thunder Guard Lu Dort, and Houston Rockets Forward Amen Thompson made up the first team.
Portland Trail Blazers Forward Toumani Camara, Minnesota Timberwolves Center Rudy Gobert, Memphis Grizzlies Power Jaren Jackson Jr., Oklahoma City Thunder Forward Jalen Williams, and Los Angeles Clippers Ivica Zubac constituted the second team. Were all of these players deserving of this lofty honor?
NBA Announces All-Defensive Teams
NBA fans will see some familiar names in the All-Defensive teams. Chief among them are Green, Gobert, and Jackson Jr. This is Green’s ninth career all-defensive team selection. This is Gobert’s eighth career all-defensive team and Jackson Jr.’s third such selection.
There are also some new names as well on the All-Defensive teams. This is Williams’ first such selection along with Zubac, Camara, Daniels, Dort, and Thompson. So many old and new aces signifies the league is in a good spot on the defensive end of the floor.
Final Thoughts
The only players from the All-Defensive teams remaining in the NBA Playoffs are Dort, Gobert, and Williams. All three of these players will be prominently featured in the Western Conference Finals between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder. If defense wins championships, these players will leads their squad to a title over the next few weeks.
