San Francisco 49ers-Quarterback Brock Purdy Agree To Massive Contract Extension
The San Francisco 49ers locked up Quarterback Brock Purdy for the foreseeable future. Purdy and the 49ers agreed on a five-year, $265 million contract extension Friday evening. This contract includes $181 million in guarantees. The quarterback will be under contract with the team until 2030.
Purdy was entering the final year of his rookie deal, which was set to pay him $5.34 million in 2025. He is making the seventh-most money at the quarterback position on a per-year basis. Such a lucrative contract comes with outsized expectations. Will he be able to live up to it?
Brock Purdy Career Summary
Purdy’s NFL success was completely unexpected. He was deemed “Mr. Irrelevant” as the last player selected in the 2022 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, 2022, he took the San Francisco 49ers to the NFC Championship Game. Purdy tore the UCL in his throwing elbow, which led to an Eagles rout.
