Brandon Hunt Hired By Las Vegas Raiders In Power Move
The Las Vegas Raiders have hired Brandon Hunt as Vice President of Player Personnel. Over the last year or so, the Raiders have been making significant changes in their front office. From the top, Tom Brady bought an ownership stake in the team. Pete Carroll was hired recently as the next head coach. Hunt’s hiring aligns with the Raiders’ broadening of their front office and their ability to create future success. Hunt brings a wide array of experience with him.
Brandon Hunt’s Professional Experience
Before moving to Las Vegas, Brandon Hunt was a member of the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX Championship squad. After two seasons as the director of scouting from 2022 to 2023, he most recently held the position of senior director of scouting in 2024.
Hunt was the pro scouting coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers for 12 seasons from 2010–21 before moving to Philadelphia. He was responsible for scouting opponents and evaluating professional athletes in this capacity. After working as an intern in the Steelers’ scouting department from 2005–06, where he was a staff member of Pittsburgh’s Super Bowl XL title squad, Hunt joined the Houston Texans as a pro scout from 2007–09.
Hunt’s Collegiate Experience
Hunt was a four-year starter at guard and center from 2000 to 2003, and also served as a graduate assistant at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2004. He obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration in 2006, following his Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems in 2003. The NFL selected Brandon Hunt to attend the NFL Career Development Symposium for front office executives in 2014 and 2018. Additionally, he participated in the NFL League of Leaders program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in the summer of 2023.
Raiders Long-term plan
New General Manager John Spytek is rebuilding the Raiders’ front office and has made high-profile hires this offseason. Brandon Hunt’s hiring is another excellent addition and a significant move for the Raiders. Spytek is on the record saying he wants to emulate the Philadelphia Eagles, and to do so, he has hired two former high-level executives from the Eagles. Anthony Patch was also employed by the Eagles but joined the Raiders staff this offseason as a senior personnel executive.
High-level executives, including Mark Thewes, Senior Vice President of Football Operations and Strategy, and Brian Stark, Assistant General Manager, have joined the organization. These hires support the Raiders’ long-term strategy of replicating the Philadelphia Eagles’ success. So far, they are doing an excellent job of bringing in top-level talent evaluators. Now they must put it all together.
Conclusion
The Las Vegas Raiders made a calculated move by adding Brandon Hunt to their front office. It is a move that aligns with the team’s long-term goals. His extensive background and track record of success in player personnel management are vital to the Raiders’ quest for a championship.
