Julian Strawther’s Clutch Second-Half Performance Helps Denver in Game 6
The Denver Nuggets won Game 6 119-107 in a Do-or-Die Situation, and it was a second-year player, Julian Strawther, who stepped up BIG in the Second Half of this game to go along with Nikola Jokic’s 29, Jamal Murray’s 25, and Christian Braun’s 23 points. Strawther had 15 points in the second half of this game and made some crucial shots throughout the second half of this game that swung the game to the Nuggets’ favor.Â
Julian Strawther’s Improbable Moment
Strawhter has had limited minutes in the playoffs up to this moment here having only 7.3 minutes played on average until Thursday night. On Thursday, he had 20 minutes and did 7.5 times his production in the playoffs with those 15 points. The former Gonzaga guard was ready for this moment that came out of nowhere, it seemed like he had a point where he scored 8 of the 10 Nuggets points in the third quarter.Â
I could’ve highlighted Murray’s sick game as he was sick during the day before Game 6, with his 25, I could’ve also highlighted Braun’s performance as well as it was a playoff career high for him. But Strawther was the crucial piece for the Nuggets to pull away as this game was a two-point game when Strawther went off, plus he ONLY had 17 points in the WHOLE PLAYOFFS BEFORE TONIGHT! It would be a crime not to highlight this performance!
Final ThoughtsÂ
Julian Strawther became a cult hero in this game tonight as he was the guy who answered the bell when no one expected him to do so. Imagine if Michael Malone were still the coach of this team, you wouldn’t have seen this moment happen because he wouldn’t have played him in that spot. Credit David Adelman for trusting Strawther. This was a fun moment to see in a crazy 2025 NBA Playoffs. Total Apex Sports is the place to be for more NBA stories during the rest of these insane playoffs.Â
