Julian Edelman Inducted Into New England Patriots Hall Of Fame
The New England Patriots announced Monday they would induct Wide Receiver Julian Edelman into the team’s Hall of Fame. As a 7th-round draft pick, he put together one of the best careers in league history. Will a call from the Pro Football be next for the all-time great?
Julian Edelman Career Summary
He had 620 receptions, 6,822 receiving yards, and 36 receiving touchdowns in the regular season. While Edelman was a solid regular season player, he turned into one of the best players in postseason history. He was named Super Bowl LII MVP. He had 12 catches for 141 yards in a win against the Los Angeles Rams. Edelman was instrumental in the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick New England Patriots winning three Super Bowls during his tenure with the team.
Edelman is third all-time in postseason receiving yards and third all-time in postseason receptions. He is trailing Travis Kelce and Jerry Rice in both categories. Not bad company for the Patriots great to find himself in. He is also fifth all-time in Super Bowl receiving yards and seventh in Super Bowl receptions.
Final Thoughts
His induction into the New England Patriots opens the door to a possible induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The adage is a player should make the Hall of Fame if you cannot tell the story of the league without said player. It would be impossible to tell the story of the NFL without Julian Edelman.
