Cavaliers Have Been The Best Team In the 2025 Playoffs
The Cleveland Cavaliers have a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Miami Heat and have played like the most dominant team in the NBA Playoffs so far. Their 124-87 win was undoubtedly the most convincing win of the series, highlighting why they finished first in the Eastern Conference. Last night’s domination by Cleveland was the best they have played all series. It also was the biggest loss in Heat postseason history.
Miami Heat Losing By 37 Points Is a Franchise High
Yes, that’s right. According to an ESPN article, the Miami Heat’s 37-point loss to the Cavaliers is the largest in the franchise’s history. Bam Adebayo led the Heat with 22 points but shot 9-of-20 from the field. He was 4-of-7 from three-point range, which saved his night from being worse. The Heat could not keep up with Cleveland in any way in this game. They looked lost at times.
The Heat have had no answers for the Cavaliers in this series. The Heat are simply the less talented team and face a 3-0 deficit. The Heat faced a Cleveland team that wasn’t at 100%, complimenting how good the Cavaliers have been in the first three games. The Heat will need Adebayo to take his game to another level and will also need a secondary player like Andrew Wiggins to complement that level of production to have any chance.
The Cavaliers Have Been a Wagon In This Series
The Cavs beat the Heat by 37 points with Donovan Mitchell having an off night and Darius Garland out of the lineup. Donovan Mitchell shot 4-of-14 from the field and 3-of-8 from three-point range, totaling just 13 points. Looking at the Cavaliers, there is the potential for secondary scoring to elevate itself to equal the production of the big boys.
Evan Mobley is the player who sticks out. He scored 20 points in Game 2 and 19 points in Game 3. He has emerged as the secondary player mentioned above. He’s a very well-rounded player, and he chipped in a block and a steal as well. His production allows the team to get away with their star players having an off night, although it’s phenomenal how well the role players have played in this series.
Mobley and Jarrett Allen completely owned the Heat on the glass. The duo combined for three offensive rebounds and 13 defensive rebounds. Controlling and protecting the rim to that capacity is a recipe for success. It is the little things that are giving the Cavaliers success right now.
Why the Cavaliers Have Been the Most Impressive Team
There is an argument to be made that the Thunder have had the most success in the playoffs so far based on the fact they are in the second round. The Thunder swept the Grizzlies who were missing their best player in Ja Morant, and Oklahoma City only won Game 4 by two points. In Game 3, the Thunder only beat the Grizzlies by six points. It could be overanalyzing, but the Thunder didn’t play the Grizzlies like a team that was without their best player. It is a small critique, but the Thunder are going to the second round building off a sweep, so they should not complain too much.
The Cavaliers have been playing the most complete team game so far in the playoffs. Each game in the series hasn’t been close, and it’s a matter of when and not if they make it into the second round. The view on the Cavaliers could change once they get past the Heat, but that should be their focus as of now.
