Buffalo Bills-Cornerback Dane Jackson Agree On 1-Year Deal
The Buffalo Bills and Cornerback Dane Jackson agreed on a 1-year deal Friday afternoon. He is coming off an underwhelming season with the Carolina Panthers. He had 23 tackles and was limited to 9 games with a hamstring injury. Jackson was never able to find his footing in his lone season in Carolina.
Jackson is familiar with the Buffalo Bills. He played for the team from 2020-2023. He was a seventh-round pick by the Bills in the 2020 NFL Draft. Will Jackson be able to revitalize his career with the Buffalo Bills in 2025?
Buffalo Bills Offseason Outlook
Following another disappointing playoff loss at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo has been busy this offseason. Jackson is not the only defender Buffalo has added. They signed Defensive End Joey Bosa. Buffalo also re-signed Defensive End Greg Rousseau, Linebacker Terrel Bernard, and Safety Damar Hamlin.
Buffalo’s defense was mediocre last season. They have upgraded that part of their team this offseason. Their defense surrendered an average of 28.5 points per game in their final two playoff games against the Baltimore Ravens and Chiefs. As has been the case over the last five years, Patrick Mahomes got the best of Buffalo’s defense come playoff time. Mahomes led the Chiefs on a 3:33 drive to set up a game-winning field goal.
Final Thoughts
Jackson is a shrewd signing by the franchise as he will look to bolster a new-look Bills defense. He has had success with Buffalo in the past and will look to do that again in 2025.
